Once you've got a motocross
bike, transport and kit
sorted, you need somewhere to ride. Follow the link at the bottom
of this page to see which track is nearest you. If they have not
got any listed near you, speak to the person or shop that you got
your bike from, they should be able to help. If you look in Trails
And Motocross News you will see tracks advertised.
Each track can vary is
size, ability level, facilities and number of riders using the track.
Most of the tracks have a kids / learner section, and this is probably
the best place to start until you've got the hang of the bike and
the way it handles. Don't worry about starting out here, we all
had to start somewhere.
Assuming you know how
to ride a motorbike, it shouldn't take you long to get used to your
bike. If you can't ride, it'll take a bit longer, but just keep
at it, it will soon come. Just remember that motocross bikes are
quick race bikes as standard, a 125 is a very rapid bike, not a
learner bike.
Once you are used to
the bike and 100% happy, get out onto that track. Take it easy,
because this will be a little different to anything you've rode
on so far. Watch where and how other people ride, you'll pick up
a lot from just watching. If you practice the correct techniques
from the start, and build up your speed slowly, it won't be long
before you're looking very much at home on the track.
